I have known Maxine professionally for years. When I discovered she was licensed in NJ, I immediately hired her. There is no one I trust more to advocate for my child's unique and complicated educational needs. Maxine has worked in the trenches of public education in New York City and is now using everything she learned as an insider to benefit the clients she represents. She is wise and kind, but most importantly, she is exceedingly knowledgeable about education law. I felt safe with Maxine at my child's IEP meeting, and I have counted on her sage advice to help me handle issues that have come up over the school year. You are not going to be able to find a better attorney than Maxine. She is uniquely qualified. You've struck gold if you have the chance to work with her. She is sincerely the best. ~ Elisabeth Coffey, LCSW, LCADC

Maxine Checchi provided us with extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and measured guidance when we were seeking an out of district placement to meet our son's needs. After years of trying to get more support for our child on our own, we knew we needed specialized consultation and the gravitas of a lawyer in the conversation. She knew the appropriate steps to take, communicated with the district counsel when needed, and helped us avoid an adversarial experience with the district. Maxine listened to us, was incredibly compassionate, and really understood why this type of placement was essential for our child. We successfully achieved what we needed for our son and Maxine definitely contributed to a positive outcome for our family. ~ Erin S. and Stephen S., N.J., 2022-2023
As has been the experience for many others, the search for the right educational setting for my son was long and difficult. Engaging Maxine for help was one of the best decisions I made during that effort. Her extensive experience and deep expertise were invaluable, but it was her empathy and understanding that made the biggest impression and impact. Maxine quickly became our most trusted and relied upon advisor and I could not recommend her more highly. ~ John (father of Tim, age 15)
